Pine Street Station typically acts as a live music venue and a center for art workshops, but on Sunday afternoons it is transformed into the HOPE farmer's market, which acts as a melting pot for community activists, artists, and merchants. Since October the market has been attracting a growing number of regular attendees, and for good reason.
The market boasts a large selection of vendors who promote healthy living through organic goods, from natural soaps to local grass-fed beef and buffalo. There is, accordingly, a great selection of produce, as well as fresh cut flowers and bouquets. Local producers provide recipes and cooking demonstrations, and Empower Yoga puts on 45-minute workshops at the market, at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m each Sunday.
Each month a new artist designs the market's poster series; Ryan Rhodes created the January poster. Other participating artists/artisans proffer screen-printed tees, vintage cowboy boots, and delicate jewelry.
